Basic Info

Shade, original name unknown, was a typical, good little Victorian boy who happened to live with an incredibly abusive father. When Shade's brother Michael killed their father to protect Shade after their father killed their mother, the brothers ran away, using any means at their disposal to survive. This didn't last long, however: something Michael did caused a shockingly furious mob to assault him, and when they saw his brother was with him, they assaulted Shade as well. Neither survived, though only Shade remained behind as a ghost.

Shade spent the next 200 years or so crying. He was all alone, haunting an empty and decaying mansion, with no family to watch over. The mansion had plenty of books--which he coated in his tears. All the reading and crying turned his eye color red.

Evenutally, however, he had no more tears to cry, and Shade managed to pull himself together. Learning more and more about the modern world, he decided to try to make the best of things, changing his clothing style and attitude, becoming a playful sex worker, a master of puns, and a good friend.

Physical Description

Shade is about 5'7", though he often seems taller because he floats everywhere--he refuses to walk. He has very pale skin, and he's ever so slightly transparent. His hair is mostly blond, though there's a triangle of hair that runs from the top of his head to the right side of his bangs that he changes to be either highlighted a different color, or a different color entirely (usually something bright, like pink, green, blue, or red). He always has a devilish grin on--literally. Because he can manipulate his appearance at will, he can make it seem like he's always grinning without effort.

Beyond that, Shade usually wears jeans or sweatpants, with a one-size-too-large drawstring hoodie on. The hoodie usually has some sort of lewd phrase on it--he can change this at will, too.
